Value of our Members
The goal of the study Industrial Design is to create interactive products, systems and services in a societal context. The study is an umbrella for different disciplines which means the students have a coherent overview of different areas of expertise. This overview makes it easy for an Industrial Design student to link the disciplines within a design process. A designer constantly has to adapt to changes in technology and society. At the faculty of Industrial Design, students learn to take control over their own knowledge, skills and development. When the students run into something unfamiliar to them or something they have never done before they can adapt their education and teach themselves new skills. Next to that, the students from our faculty are very open-minded and creative and always up for something different or new.
Industrial Design students are translators; they translate problems into solutions and wishes into product specifications. In this way, Industrial Design students form a bridge between technology and people. They reason from users to make technology intuitive for them. Industrial Design students have knowledge of many different disciplines and therefore are very versatile in their work. Every student has his own unique expertise but also has knowledge of the other competences.
As Lucid we like to work together with partners in diverse ways. We have listed some of the collaborations options we have every year. However feel free to contact our external affairs if you have your own collaboration idea! Press the collaboration cards to see more information on the back. An online lecture enables your company to profile themselves amongst students in a very low threshold way. You can give a presentation of approximately 30-40 minutes. An approximate of 40 attendees are present. Afterwards audiences are free to ask questions which creates interaction between students and your company.
A lunch lecture enables your company to profile themselves amongst students and staff by giving a presentation of approximately 30-40 minutes. An approximate of 40 attendees are present. Afterwards audiences are free to ask questions which creates interaction between students and your company.
A pre-drink lecture is exactly what it sounds like. During an informal lecture you can present your company to students, and make them excited to work for you, or to do an internship at your company. After the lecture you get the opportunity to get to know the students better with a drink and a snack.
Workshops can be a promotion and user experience review for your companies new
tool, product or service. They spark new ideas among the industrial design students, give an insight in the usability and spark motivation and creativity among the industrial design students.
Do you have a (complex) problem or challenge you need to solve, but you don’t know how? That’s exactly where Industrial Design students come in! With the use of design thinking and other design strategies and techniques they will tackle the problem and give you a new perspective on the possible solutions.
The internship dinner is a casual dinner which creates a great opportunity for students to see which companies they would like to do an internship at, and for companies to get a personal impression of internship candidates. As a company, you get the opportunity to present yourself, and to talk to various students in one night.
During a company visit, you can guide students through your company to give them an idea of your business. During an afternoon or day you can give students a challenge, tour, brainstorm or anything you see fit! Brainstorm with our external affairs to think of a nice company visit!
Conduct is a festival organized by Lucid. It features a wide variety of artists. Last year the festival was attended by 600 students. Conduct festival opens the opportunity to promote your company via physical promotion in the form of banners, flyers or other objects present at the festival. Your company will be a visible sponsor of the festival, which will be a great experience for a great amount of students.
